"Évora a Doce" Artist Biography: Paul Ferreira
Paulo Ferreira is a graduate of Antonio Arroios Art School in Lisbon, and attended St. Martins School in London and the Beaux Art in Paris before coming to New York, where he managed the Ohio, a live theater. A native of Lisbon, Portugal, he has lived in the United States for the past sixteen years, and has worked in Ibiza, Paris, London, New York City, and Los Angeles, before settling in Mendocino. Ferreira's artwork has been shown at galleries in Portugal, Spain, the Bahamas, New York City, and on the Mendocino coast. Design projects have included the Phillis Restaurant in Ibiza, the Estee Lauder and Escalade department store windows in London, and various theater and multi-media events in New York City. Current work includes oil paintings and ceramic sculpture.

Ferreira currently lives on the Mendocino coast of northern California, where he and his wife, poet Theresa Whitehill, formed Colored Horse Studios in 1993, providing creative services for marketing and publishing, including fine arts, travel writing, and graphic design. The literary letterpress broadsides of Colored Horse Studios are in the collections of the following institutions: the John Hay Library of Brown University, the New York Public Library, the Special Collections Department of UCLA, the Bancroft Library at UC Berkeley, the San Francisco Public Library, Mills College Special Collections, and City College of San Francisco.
