The online poem "Évora a Doce" was developed during the California Digital Arts Workshop, at the Los Angeles campus of the American Film Institute, November, 1998, an event sponsored by the California Arts Council and Intel Corporation.
Gratitude to Charlotte Stewart, David Banks, and Zóe Bachelor for their support—culinary, sheltering, and visionary; to Erik Dehkhoda for his energetic technical assistance during our stint at the California Digital Arts Workshop; and special thanks to Margarida, Alice, and Richard.

And to the person who walked off with the bag containing all of my photographs from Portugal, I am indebted, for the grief that allowed me to produce this bit of poetry inspired by the Portuguese Fado, and for the push which forced me to work with the only photos I had remaining, an artistic limitation which I believe has improved this project artistically.
