We often like to say that our goal in commercial design is not just to create beautiful, compelling images, but to create graphics that get results. And this is exactly what happened when we began creating truck graphics for North Coast Brewing Company. A month after the Scrimshaw truck started rolling on the streets of Petaluma, California, local sales of Scrimshaw Pilsner Style Beer went “through the roof.”

The Challenge:
Working in grand format with legacy art files meant learning entirely new respect for upsizing in Photoshop, usually considered a no-no in graphics due to the inevitable degradation of image that results in unsightly “artifacts.” We rescanned artwork from original sources wherever possible, and where that wasn’t possible, used our own in-house technique for upsizing, a manual procedure for which most designers use the software, Genuine Fractals.
