When Stags’ Leap Winery published an estate book, Stags’ Leap Winery: A Guide to the Estate, they hosted a number of receptions to celebrate. The first event, hosted outdoors at the Napa winery, called for some large, festive banners.

The Challenge:
The original artwork for these banners had been created at much smaller sizes (book size!) When we considered enlarging them to banners that people would see up close, we wanted to make sure the result was as elegant as the originals. Olaf Beckmann rescanned his original 8x10 transparency, which gave beautiful results. Where it wasn’t possible to rescan original artwork, we used our own in-house technique for upsizing, a manual procedure for which most designers use the software, Genuine Fractals.
